Is a City of Evanston contractor's registration required for permitted work?

All work that requires a permit requires all contractors working under the permit to be registered with the City of Evanston.  If  the work is being performed by the owner of an owner occupied single family residence, an affidavit is required in lieu of a contractor registration.  Refer to Building and Inspections Services website (insert website here)

Beginning January 2, 2018, all contractors performing work within City limits are required to register with the City, including but not limited to General Contractors, Electrical, Carpentry, Concrete, Excavation, Masonry, Landscaping, Fence, Roofing and Sign contractors.
